July 22, National Parents’ Day
Happy Parents’ Day!
In the United States, Parents’ Day is held on the fourth Sunday of every July. This was established in 1994 when President Bill Clinton signed a Congressional Resolution into law for “recognizing, uplifting, and supporting the role of parents in the rearing of children.”
Parents love their children unconditionally and support them to get through the thick and thin of life. They often put their self-gratification aside, in order to nurture their children in a loving and secure environment.
It becomes imperative to dedicate at least a day to the parents, who readily dedicate their whole life for their children. That is why, since the establishment, Parents’ Day is celebrated with gusto.
Parents Day has today become a special day for the parents, their children and the society.

Excellent gift idea, guaranteed to put a smile to anyone’s face!
What is “kawaii”? Kawaii is the quality of cuteness in the context of Japanese culture.
It has become a prominent aspect of Japanese culture, entertainment, clothing, food, toys, personal appearance, behavior, and mannerisms.
Popular cute characters in Japan: Hello Kitty, Tarepanda, Felix the cat, Mickey Mouse, Winnie-the-Pooh, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit…
The word “kawaii” is pronounced similarly to the name of the Hawaiian island of Kauai and the word is also spelled like “Hawaii” with a “k” in place of the “h.” As a matter of fact, kawaii has become very popular in Hawaii which is where many Japanese immigrants live and also where a lot of Japanese tourists visit on vacation.

Printable Gift Bags

Gift bags are a great way to wrap presents.
They are also useful for small gifts or for handing out goody bags at a party.
If you can’t find the perfect gift bag design in a store, or you want a fun craft for kids, you can print and assemble your own gift bags using a template.
Some templates incorporate colors, designs or holiday themes, while others provide only the guidelines for folding the gift bag itself.
Print templates with designs on plain white paper, or print blank templates on patterned scrapbooking paper.
For example see a cute template here:
To make your gift bag, the only equipment you’ll need is:
- A printer
- Some nice paper/card to print onto. Thin card with a decorative pattern is ideal, but wrapping paper cut to US letter or A4 size will also do just fine
- Scissors or a craft knife
- Glue or double sided tape

Fancy Butterfly Bag
Posted on 31 March 2012 | Comments Off
Overwhelmingly, cultural myth and lore honor the butterfly as a symbol of transformation because of its impressive process of metamorphosis.
From egg, to larvae (caterpillar), to pupa (the chrysalis or cocoon) and from the cocoon the butterfly emerges in her unfurling glory.
What a massive amount of transition this tiny creature undergoes. Consider for a moment the kind of energy this expends. I daresay if a human were to go through this kind of change we’d freak out!
Well, I suggest you make a Fancy Butterfly Bag instead. It’s not difficult at all, just follow Martha Stewart’s instructions here:

Pretty Blue Gift Box

Blue symbolism provides a fascinating look at one of the most prevalent and beloved colors around the world.
Blue symbolism affects many areas of life, including clothing choices, language and cliches, interior design, art, religion and health.
Although blue is even more popular in the western world than is other areas of the world, blue skies and blue water are full of positive meaning in every culture.
We are, after all, living on the “blue planet.”
Blue is the color of loyalty and faith. Blue is power.
Blue is also the color of protection.

Elegant Flower Box

Don’t we all love flowers?
Flowers and plants are therapeutic, that’s a fact.
It has been said that flowers are the sweetest things God ever made, but forgot to put a soul into. They not only look pretty but smell delicious, too.
We see flowers as being pretty for the same reason we love the stars, a sunset/sunrise, mountains, the tropical ocean, and all other forms of natural beauty. It’s coincidence. It’s still beautiful though.
Pamper your wife, girlfriend, mom, grandmother with an Elegant Flower Box.

Bird Theme Gift Box
Posted on 22 March 2012 | Comments Off
During the spring and early summer, it’s not just the milk van that will wake you early – it’s dawn chorus time again.
From March to July, those feathered alarm clocks are at it again, as they defend their territories and sing to attract a mate.
As winter turns to spring, the lengthening daylight switches male songbirds into breeding mode.
Singing is hard work, and uses hard won food reserves, so it is the fittest, best-fed males who produce the strongest, most impressive song. Females therefore choose a mate who sings best, because such a male is more likely to be good at raising chicks, to have a good territory, or to pass successful genes to their young.
In many species, once the female has been attracted, the male will sing less often. A bird that sings on and on, late into the season, is probably a lonely batchelor who has failed to attract a mate.
A pretty Bird Theme Gift Box is an excellent gift idea for birthday, name day, Easter to your mom, grandma, daughter, sister, best friend…

18 March 2012 - Mothering Sunday
Mothering Sunday, sometimes known as Mother’s Day, is held on the fourth Sunday of Lent in the United Kingdom. It is exactly three weeks before Easter Sunday and usually falls in the second half of March or the beginning of April.
Mothering Sunday was originally a time when people returned to the church, in which they were baptized or where they attended services when they were children.
This meant that families were reunited as adults returned to the towns and villages where they grew up.
In time, it became customary for young people who were working as servants in large houses, to be given a holiday on Mothering Sunday. They could use this day to visit their own mother and often took a gift of food or hand-me-down clothing from their employers to her.
Mothering Sunday is now a celebration of motherhood. It is a day to honor mothers and other mother figures, such as grandmothers, stepmothers and mother-in-laws.
Treat your mum to a special present with a unique homemade gift box.
