Back in the middle ages, people thought of children simply as little adults. Modern psychology has destroyed that theory.
More than 50 years ago, the psychologist Carl Rogers suggested that simply loving our children wasn’t enough. We have to love them unconditionally, he said — for who they are, not for what they do.
Nurturing children is about the way we love them, the way we bring them up.
A parent’s love is our children’s destiny. A parent’s love is whole no matter how many times divided. It’s the legacy we give them.
Parents need to show their children that they do love and care for them.
Simply saying “I love you,” or taking part in a child’s activities and interests are very straightforward means for a parent to show a child love.
International Children’s Day is approaching. Show your love to your kid with a homemade gift: a Mint Manet Gift box filled with

May 28, Pentecost Monday
Pentecost (Whitsunday) celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit in the form of flames to the followers of Jesus, as recorded in the New Testament. Jesus had told them to wait until the Spirit came to them.
Ten days after ascension, 50 days after the resurrection, the Spirit came.
In Gloucestershire, England, this holiday is often referred to as ‘Bread and Cheese Day’ because of a very strange custom that takes place on this day.
On Whit Monday, basketfuls of bread and cheese are thrown from a wall near the old castle, to be scrambled for in a lane below. The locals have been hurling bread and cheese since the 13th century.
After rolling three double Gloucester cheeses around the church, one is cut up and shared amongst bystanders and the other two are rolled down a steep hill.
Cheese rolling also takes place in other areas around England.
It’s the perfect occasion to make a Cheese Shaped Gift Box for family and friends.

May 27, Pentecost Sunday
After Easter Sunday, Christmas is the second-greatest feast in the Christian liturgical calendar, but Pentecost Sunday – also known as Whitsunday – is not far behind.
Coming 50 days after Easter and ten days after the Ascension of Our Lord, Pentecost marks the descent of the Holy Spirit on the apostles.
For that reason, it is often called the “the birthday of the Church.”
The English word “Pentecost” is a transliteration of the Greek word pentekostos, which means “fifty.” It comes from the ancient Christian expression pentekoste hemera, which means “fiftieth day.”
The symbols of Pentecost are those of the Holy Spirit and include flames, wind, and a dove.
Pentecost in the time of the Apostles was a great and grand harvest celebration. The streets were clogged with thousands of pilgrims who had come from every point of the compass to celebrate the goodness of God and the bringing in of the wheat harvest.
Make a nice present, celebrate this holy day with a pretty Pentecost Blessing Basket, make one, just like Angela Coles has created one:

Mothers’ Day honors and celebrates mothers. Mothers are often given gifts and cards on this day from their children.
It’s traditionally a day for mothers to put their feet up and be spoilt by their kids.
Many people express their gratitude towards mothers and mother figures on Mother’s Day. Mother figures may include step-mothers, mothers-in-law, guardians (eg. foster parents), and family friends.
It is the time for people to thank mothers and mother figures who took the time care for them and help them through life’s challenges.
Some people may choose to wear a carnation as a brooch on Mother’s Day. However, other flowers are also given to mothers or mother figures to symbolize one’s love and appreciation for them.
Celebrate Mother’s Day with a unique handmade gift this year. Treat your mom to something special that you created.

A good mother-child relationship is built on warmth and being around each other a lot. A mother’s love is something that no one can explain. It is made of deep devotion and of sacrifice and pain, it is endless and unselfish.
When we feel we need that one person who knows us best, accepts us, understands what makes us feel better, that’s when no one but mom will do.
It’s almost always that mom has the strongest and the quietest influence on us. She balances so many roles and she does it all with a smile. And though we feel it in our hearts, but sometimes leave our appreciation unsaid.
Mother’s Day is the perfect time to tell your mom how much you love her.
Treat her to a special Mother’s Day gift, put your time and efforts into creating something homemade for her. She will definitely appreciate it!
For instance, make a unique Mother’s Day gift box, and fill it with

Private letterboxes or mail slots did not become popular in most of Europe until the mid to late 19th century, although they were used in Paris, France from the late 18th century.
In 1849, the British Post Office first encouraged people to install letterboxes to facilitate the delivery of mail.
Before then, letterboxes of a similar design had been installed in the doors and walls of post offices for people to drop off outgoing mail.
Nowadays mailboxes come in all shapes and sizes and can be made from such materials as bricks, wood, metal and plastic.
What’s more, you can make a Mailbox Gift Box from paper, just print out this free template from over here:

Did you know that…
Americans eat more candy at Easter than at any other holiday besides Halloween.
An average of seven billion pounds of candy is consumed over Easter weekend. Sales of Easter candy top nearly $2 billion; in contrast, just over $1 billion of candy is sold for Valentine’s Day.
The most popular Easter confection is Marshmallow Peeps. More than 700 million of these chick, bunny and egg-shaped marshmallows are purchased every year. A meager 90 million chocolate bunnies are consumed. At peak production, over four million Marshmallow Peeps can be made each day.
This gift tower is easy to make if you have few different-sized empty boxes at home. See inspiration here or you can also purchase the tower:

After few days is Easter.
Easter marks the end of Lent, a 40-day period of fasting, repentance, moderation and spiritual discipline in preparation for Easter.
In Western Christianity, it is always celebrated on the Sunday immediately following the Paschal Full Moon.
Easter is not only a movable feast but it happens on different dates depending on where in the world you live.
In western churches such as in the United Kingdom, Easter will be celebrated on 08 April, 2012 whereas in Eastern Orthodox churches the date will be 15 April, 2012.
The reason for this is that in the west the date is calculated using the Gregorian calendar which is different to the Julian calendar which is used in the east.
If you have got an old soft toy rabbit and a middle size gift box, you can easily make it yourself. Or alternatively you can purchase it from here:

Happy Great Lover’s Day!
April 2nd Great Lover’s Day marking the birth of Casanova, the legendary lover, in 1725.
What is love?
It is one of the most difficult questions for the mankind.
Centuries have passed by, relationships have bloomed and so has love. But no one can give the proper definition of love.
To some ‘Love is friendship set on fire’ for others ‘Maybe love is like luck. You have to go all the way to find it.’
No matter how you define it or feel it, love is the eternal truth in the history of mankind.
Be together, share your joy and sorrow, understand each other, provide space to each other, but always be there for each others need. And surely love will blossom to strengthen your relationship with your matter of affection.
