Our fathers carry half of our genetic makeup.
Our relationship with our father plays a huge part of who we will become.
In many segments of society, people grow up without ever knowing their fathers. This is unfortunate because fathers should play as important a role in raising their children as mothers.
A father is the model of a man for his daughter and she will choose a man who is like him.
A father is the model for his son as well. Like father, like son. It’s a small phrase… Yet it packs so much emotion.
Fortunately, there is a trend for fathers to be more active in their children’s lives.

Father’s Day is celebrated worldwide to recognize the contribution that fathers and father figures make to the lives of their children. This day celebrates fatherhood and male parenting.
Although it is celebrated on a variety of dates worldwide, many countries observe this day on the third Sunday in June.
Father’s Day is not a federal holiday in most countries, with exception to Thailand because it falls on the same day as the King’s Birthday, which is a public holiday.
There are some suggestions that the idea of Father’s Day may originate in pagan sun worship.
Some branches of paganism see the sun as the father of the universe. The June solstice occurs around the same time of year as Father’s Day so some people see a link between the two.
Dad has a quiet and deep influence on us. On Father’s Day, let him know how much you appreciate and love him.

Involvement, influence, and affection: three keys to father-child relationships. Though they may sometimes find it difficult to express their feelings, most fathers care about their children and families.
Fathers inspire children to be the best of what they already are. Children inspire men to tap into their deepest and greatest potential.
Father’s Day is an occasion to mark and celebrate the contribution that your own father has made to your life. Many people send or give cards or gifts to their fathers.
Father’s Day is a relatively modern holiday so different families have a range of traditions. These can range from a simple phone call or greetings card to large parties honoring all of the ‘father’ figures in a particular extended family. Father figures can include fathers, step-fathers, fathers-in-law, grandfathers and great-grandfathers and even other male relatives.
Father’s Day is the perfect day to let him know how much you appreciate him.
Make a special gift for him. For instance a lovely Shirt & Tie Gift Box, and fill it with

Back in the middle ages, people thought of children simply as little adults. Modern psychology has destroyed that theory.
More than 50 years ago, the psychologist Carl Rogers suggested that simply loving our children wasn’t enough. We have to love them unconditionally, he said — for who they are, not for what they do.
Nurturing children is about the way we love them, the way we bring them up.
A parent’s love is our children’s destiny. A parent’s love is whole no matter how many times divided. It’s the legacy we give them.
Parents need to show their children that they do love and care for them.
Simply saying “I love you,” or taking part in a child’s activities and interests are very straightforward means for a parent to show a child love.

Graduation is the act of completion and moving up to the next level.
There is usually a graduation from kindergarten to elementary school, from elementary school to junior high school and from high school to college. There are also graduations from medical, military or specialized schools.
There is typically a ceremony associated with graduation, where the graduate receives a diploma.
The ceremony represents the moving up from one level to another or the completion of study.
There is almost always a celebration for graduation day to recognize their accomplishment and completion of hard work – a gathering of friends and family, picnics or large parties.
Hats off to all our graduates this year!

May 28, Pentecost Monday
Pentecost (Whitsunday) celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit in the form of flames to the followers of Jesus, as recorded in the New Testament. Jesus had told them to wait until the Spirit came to them.
Ten days after ascension, 50 days after the resurrection, the Spirit came.
In Gloucestershire, England, this holiday is often referred to as ‘Bread and Cheese Day’ because of a very strange custom that takes place on this day.
On Whit Monday, basketfuls of bread and cheese are thrown from a wall near the old castle, to be scrambled for in a lane below. The locals have been hurling bread and cheese since the 13th century.
After rolling three double Gloucester cheeses around the church, one is cut up and shared amongst bystanders and the other two are rolled down a steep hill.
Cheese rolling also takes place in other areas around England.
It’s the perfect occasion to make a Cheese Shaped Gift Box for family and friends.

May 27, Pentecost Sunday
After Easter Sunday, Christmas is the second-greatest feast in the Christian liturgical calendar, but Pentecost Sunday – also known as Whitsunday – is not far behind.
Coming 50 days after Easter and ten days after the Ascension of Our Lord, Pentecost marks the descent of the Holy Spirit on the apostles.
For that reason, it is often called the “the birthday of the Church.”
The English word “Pentecost” is a transliteration of the Greek word pentekostos, which means “fifty.” It comes from the ancient Christian expression pentekoste hemera, which means “fiftieth day.”
The symbols of Pentecost are those of the Holy Spirit and include flames, wind, and a dove.
Pentecost in the time of the Apostles was a great and grand harvest celebration. The streets were clogged with thousands of pilgrims who had come from every point of the compass to celebrate the goodness of God and the bringing in of the wheat harvest.
Make a nice present, celebrate this holy day with a pretty Pentecost Blessing Basket, make one, just like Angela Coles has created one:

Spot on! Get the retro feel with polka dots this summer!
An early recorded use of the term “polka dot” is in 1854 in The Yale literary magazine.
The pattern is named for the dance of the same name, making one suspect there is a connection linking the pattern to the dance.
Instead, the name was settled upon merely because of the dance’s popularity at the time the pattern became fashionable. Many other products and fashions of the era also adopted the polka name.
Make a polka dotted Round Retro Container as a gift for your daughter, mother, best friend. You can be sure that any woman will love it.

May 13, MOTHERS’ DAY
Happy Mothers’ Day!
To all those special Mothers out there, we celebrate you and thank you not just on Mothers’ Day, not just on Mothering Sunday, not just on Mother’s birthday, but on every day of the year!
When a person is in his/her childhood, his/her mom stands ahead of him/her to set an example.
As he/she grows up and becomes a teenager, she is always behind her little one, to lend support whenever he/she needs it.
Once he/she grows up to become a mature adult, the mother starts walking beside him/her, so that the two can be friends forever.
In short, a mother is always there for her child, at each and every stage of his/her life.
At some point of time in life, every child feels the need of saying thank you to his/her mother, for all what she has done. What better way to say thanks, than with a handmade gift and some nice poetry?
Create a lovely Flower Pot Gift Box, and fill it with
