What’s a better treat than a summer picnic?
Pack up some delicious sandwiches, side salads, drinks, and desserts and head outdoors for a refreshing al fresco meal. Everything tastes better in the open air.
We’re all ready for summer fun. A trip to the beach or the countryside wouldn’t be complete without a picnic.
Picnics are a great way to spend time with friends and family members who have kids, so do encourage them to bring along the small fry when you’re putting your guest list together.
Contribute a side dish that doesn’t require any cooking, such as salads or fruit platters made from fresh seasonal ingredients. July picnics are all about summer salads and cherries.
If there is a birthday girl or birthday boy in the company, there is no better homemade gift idea to give than a Summer Picnic Basket. It is lovely, sweet, and perfect for the occasion.

Did you know that…
In the past, tradition called for someone completely outside the family of the expectant mother to host the baby shower.
However, it is now considered acceptable for a mother or sister to hold the baby shower and send out invitations, etc. It is not considered good manners for the mother to throw her own baby shower.
While the mother-to-be can certainly have a say in certain things, and the hostess will get the guest list from her, the party is for her so it shouldn’t be given by her.
A good time for the shower is 2-3 months before the due date or after the baby is born.
Everyone wants to bring the cutest, newest and most sensational gift of the baby shower - and there’s nothing like creating the perfect homemade present that the family will be glad to have for a long time.
For instance a lovely Baby Bottle Gift Box. To create your own, read and follow the helpful instructions of Kathrin:

Let’s get straight to the point: Gift bags make gift giving easy.
Paper gift bags with handles were introduced commercially in 1987, and according to Hallmark research and sales history, they have been the top-selling way that consumers wrap gifts since 2002.
According to Hallmark research, the gift wrap industry accounts for approximately $2.9 billion a year in retail sales.
In addition, 98 percent of consumers say they wrap gifts during one of the largest gift-giving seasons: the holidays.
Hallmark offers unique ways to present gifts beyond the traditional bags and rolls, including musical gift bags and gift-card boxes, designed shirt boxes with grommet fasteners, and designed gift boxes with fabric ribbon closures.
But how about a stunning Homemade Gift Bag?

The United States Postal Service (also known as USPS, the Post Office or U.S. Mail) is an independent agency of the United States government responsible for providing postal service in the United States.
It is one of the few government agencies explicitly authorized by the United States Constitution.
The USPS traces its roots to 1775 during the Second Continental Congress, where Benjamin Franklin was appointed the first postmaster general.
The cabinet-level Post Office Department was created in 1792 from Franklin’s operation and transformed into its current form in 1971 under the Postal Reorganization Act.

What’s the deal with giving flowers?
Women like receiving flowers. Men think flowers are stupid.
Men think: Flowers die, they don’t do anything when they are alive, they are expensive, and they are a cliche.
Men know that women in general like flowers, but men also believe that women they know personally do not like flowers.
So, here’s what you get:
Flowers make the giver happy. The act of giving flowers elicits a real smile (as opposed to a fake, oh-that-was-nice smile) more often than other gifts of similar cost, according to research from Jeannette Haviliand-Jones, psychologist at Rutgers University. And men are conditioned to react very positively to a real smile.
Men give flowers at work, too. Not every bouquet means I love you. Some bouquets mean, “Get the project done on time or we’re screwed.” Give flowers during crunch time because flowers and plants at the workplace increase productivity.
Alternatively give a Flower Gift Box, that won’t die fast. See Deanna’s beautiful craft project to inspire you:

The so-called “Golden Age of Piracy” lasted from about 1700 to 1725. During this time, thousands of men (and women) turned to piracy as a way to make a living.
The Caribbean was a great place for pirates: there was little or no law, there were plenty of uninhabited islands for hideouts, and many merchant vessels passed through.
It was extremely rare, but women did occasionally strap on a cutlass and pistol and take to the seas. The most famous examples were Anne Bonny and Mary Read, who sailed with “Calico Jack” Rackham in 1719. Bonny and Read dressed as men and reportedly fought just like their male counterparts.
When Rackham and his crew were captured, Bonny and Read announced that they were both pregnant and thus avoided being hanged along with the others.

For hundreds of years, fairy tales have been read by children and adults, instructing, fascinating, and horrifying us by turns.
Kids of any age love to read fairy tales because the storyline never limits the possibility that anything could happen. Curses, spells, and handsome princes reign in worlds beyond the reader’s imagination.
But are the most magical moments from some of our favorite stories actually possible?
Basic physical principles and recent scientific research suggest that what readers might mistake for fantasies and exaggeration could be rooted in reality.
So suspend your imagination for a moment, and create a stunning Fairy Tale gift box to a birthday girl or birthday boy.

The Normans introduced the first proper castles, starting with the wooden Motte and Bailey castles, to England following their victory at the Battle of Hastings in 1066.
The Norman timber Motte and Bailey castles were quickly replaced by permanent stone Norman castles.
They were built to provide safety and protection from attack and to display the owner’s rank and wealth. They were often built on hilltops or surrounded by water to make them easier to defend.
The biggest castle in the world, at about 570 meters length and an average of about 130 meters wide, is Prague Castle, the castle in Prague.

Red foxes are not all red. Other common red fox colours include brown, black and silver. Even foxes that come from the same litter can be different colours!
The Red Fox is about the size of a large cat. In fact, although it is a member of the dog family, some of it’s habits are very cat like as well.
Foxes stalk their prey just like cats. Also like cats, they often play with their catch before they kill it.
If they aren’t hungry, they may even catch mice just to play with, then let them go when they are done.
Red foxes have been the subject of many tales, depicted as cunning and sly. They are particularly clever at making friends with cats and dogs, charming them to the point where they are allowed to share the same food dish.
Make a Red Foxy Favor Box, it could be a nice handmade birthday gift or Valentine’s Day surprise.
It is an easy-to-make project, just get the free printable paper craft template from Paper Source Blog and follow the how-to instructions:

What do we love most about birds?
I would have to start off with, their simplicity, yet complexity.
Simplistic in a sense that their lives seem to revolve around food, safety and breeding.
The complexity is how they survive in what is a huge world around them, with threats from every direction.
There are those that whirl about the branches and leaves, seemingly oblivious to the world around them.
High up, out of reach of most everything else and in a perpetual motion.
Then there are the ones that are foraging several trees away, and dart away at the first sound of a leaf crackling beneath our feet. Of course, there’s always those in between that are well aware of your presence, and maintain a safe distance.
Birds, are such a delight to watch, and although we always have our ‘favorites’ most of us find pleasure in merely having the opportunity to be in this world with them.
Make a Cute Birdie Gift Box to treat a friend or family member with it on their birthday or Christmas. Such an adorable homemade gift idea!
