Green Crocodile Box
Posted on 31 May 2012 | Comments Off
The source for fully loving a child is found within each and every parent’s heart; it’s the capacity to love.
L is for Limit-setting. Whoever invented the word love knew that the first letter needed to stand for limit-setting. Good behavior just doesn’t happen. Appropriate behavior and the benefits of hard work—sticking with something until it’s done well—need to be learned through consistent limit-setting.
O is for Open Communication. Being understood builds self-worth. It means first listening to a child, especially during a conflict, and then putting the L into play—limit-setting. Yelling and consequences are not open communication.
V is for Valuing. At the center of love is the letter V for valuing and validating. Disciplining children effectively requires both V’s; they are as important as a child’s need for food. Value two things: what your child does right every day and the feelings a child has during a conflict.
E is for Empathy. Teaching your child to stand in another person’s shoes ensures less risk for physical health problems and develops kindness, compassion, and quality intimacy. It’s the lifeblood of enduring close relationships, the most gratifying life success your child can experience.

Mint Magnet Gift Box

Back in the middle ages, people thought of children simply as little adults. Modern psychology has destroyed that theory.
More than 50 years ago, the psychologist Carl Rogers suggested that simply loving our children wasn’t enough. We have to love them unconditionally, he said — for who they are, not for what they do.
Nurturing children is about the way we love them, the way we bring them up.
A parent’s love is our children’s destiny. A parent’s love is whole no matter how many times divided. It’s the legacy we give them.
Parents need to show their children that they do love and care for them.
Simply saying “I love you,” or taking part in a child’s activities and interests are very straightforward means for a parent to show a child love.
International Children’s Day is approaching. Show your love to your kid with a homemade gift: a Mint Manet Gift box filled with

Graduation is the act of completion and moving up to the next level.
There is usually a graduation from kindergarten to elementary school, from elementary school to junior high school and from high school to college. There are also graduations from medical, military or specialized schools.
There is typically a ceremony associated with graduation, where the graduate receives a diploma.
The ceremony represents the moving up from one level to another or the completion of study.
There is almost always a celebration for graduation day to recognize their accomplishment and completion of hard work – a gathering of friends and family, picnics or large parties.

May 28, Pentecost Monday
Pentecost (Whitsunday) celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit in the form of flames to the followers of Jesus, as recorded in the New Testament. Jesus had told them to wait until the Spirit came to them.
Ten days after ascension, 50 days after the resurrection, the Spirit came.
In Gloucestershire, England, this holiday is often referred to as ‘Bread and Cheese Day’ because of a very strange custom that takes place on this day.
On Whit Monday, basketfuls of bread and cheese are thrown from a wall near the old castle, to be scrambled for in a lane below. The locals have been hurling bread and cheese since the 13th century.
After rolling three double Gloucester cheeses around the church, one is cut up and shared amongst bystanders and the other two are rolled down a steep hill.
Cheese rolling also takes place in other areas around England.
It’s the perfect occasion to make a Cheese Shaped Gift Box for family and friends.

Pentecost Blessing Basket

May 27, Pentecost Sunday
After Easter Sunday, Christmas is the second-greatest feast in the Christian liturgical calendar, but Pentecost Sunday – also known as Whitsunday – is not far behind.
Coming 50 days after Easter and ten days after the Ascension of Our Lord, Pentecost marks the descent of the Holy Spirit on the apostles.
For that reason, it is often called the “the birthday of the Church.”
The English word “Pentecost” is a transliteration of the Greek word pentekostos, which means “fifty.” It comes from the ancient Christian expression pentekoste hemera, which means “fiftieth day.”
The symbols of Pentecost are those of the Holy Spirit and include flames, wind, and a dove.
Pentecost in the time of the Apostles was a great and grand harvest celebration. The streets were clogged with thousands of pilgrims who had come from every point of the compass to celebrate the goodness of God and the bringing in of the wheat harvest.
Make a nice present, celebrate this holy day with a pretty Pentecost Blessing Basket, make one, just like Angela Coles has created one:

DIY Baby Shower Gift
Posted on 25 May 2012 | Comments Off
In some countries, a baby shower is a way to celebrate the pending or recent birth of a child by presenting gifts to the parents at a party.
The term “shower” is often assumed to mean that the expectant mother is “showered” with gifts.
Traditionally, baby showers were given only for the family’s first child, and men, women, and children were invited. The original intent was for women to share wisdom and lessons on the art of becoming a mother.
Over time, it has become common to hold them for subsequent or adopted children. It is not uncommon for a parent to have more than one baby shower, such as one with friends and another with co-workers.

Camera Gift Box

Did you know that…
The history of the camera can be traced back much further than the introduction of photography.
Photographic cameras evolved from the camera obscura.
The first partially successful photograph of a camera image was made in 1816 by Nicéphore Niépce using a very small camera of his own making and a piece of paper coated with silver chloride, which darkened where it was exposed to light.
No means of removing the remaining unaffected silver chloride was known to Niépce, so the photograph was not permanent, eventually becoming entirely darkened by the overall exposure to light necessary for viewing it…
A homemade Camera Gift Box can be a nice surprise gift for a passionate photographer in the family.

Pretty Birdhouse Box
Posted on 23 May 2012 | Comments Off
The vocal ability of birds has inspired poets and musicians, from Chaucer to Wordsworth, from Handel to Respighi.
Birdsong can be a natural phenomenon of intense beauty. But our enjoyment is incidental to the main purpose, which is one bird communicating with others.
Birds became the world’s master musicians in order to convey to potential mates, rivals and predators all the important things they have to say, from “Clear off!” to “Come on!”
And their songs have been shaped by their environment, just as the rap musician of New York delivers a different “tune” to the yodeller in the Swiss mountains.
Make a pretty Birdhouse Box. It could be a nice surprise gift for wife, sister, mom, best friend for any type of gift-giving occasion like birthday, Christmas or Valentine’s Day.

Love In Paris Heart Box
Posted on 22 May 2012 | Comments Off
Romantic Paris is one of the best cities in the world for couples.
Everyone knows about the Eiffel Tower, but there are two other ways to get high with your honey. The Arc de Triomphe and Notre Dame both provide stunning views of the city.
There are few better places to put your arms around your lover than atop these two attractions.
Some would even argue you get a better view, because the Eiffel Tower is so tall the city is too small from that height.
And at Notre Dame, you get the bonus of being close to the gothic gargoyles.
Paris is filled with beautiful gardens, and all make an unbelievably romantic setting. Luxembourg Gardens, in particular, is a great spot for couples, and is adjacent to the breathtaking Luxembourg Castle.
If you are planning to prepare a romantic homemade gift for your sweetheart, see Monika’s beautiful Paris Gift Box to inspire you:
